2nd Smarthub fail in 18 months

I purchased my 1st smart hub in January of 2017.  It stopped working within the first year and Acurite replaced it under warranty.  Once I received it, I put it in service with a battery backup and surge protector just to make sure the electronics were protected.  It went out a week ago and won't transmit.  I would be willing to pay more for a better product as I don't like running my computer all the time.
