I have a model 1099RX indoor/outdoor weather station that is several years old. The original outdoor sensor is still functioning but the humidity readings appear to be way off. Both the display and sensor have fresh alkaline batteries installed. When the sensor is placed next to the display indoors, the temperature readings are accurate but the humidity is off by about 5% at 67 degrees F. However when the sensor is placed outdoors the humidity readings are off by as much as 20% at higher temps (high 80's - 90's) compared to local weather data, and verified with another Acurite temp/humidity monitor. Currently the outdoor reading is at 56% when it should be at least 70%. The outdoor sensor is mounted under the eaves of my open front porch. Does this sound like the sensor is failing and needs to be replaced?
