1035 Display rain totals: daily vs monthly vs annually

I had posted this at least a week ago and one of the Support staff said that unlike daily and weekly totals, the annual does not reset itself and will max out at 99" and must be manually reset.

This is illogical.

If you reset the shorter time periods (ie beginning of a new day or a new month), you should apply the same logic to the annual rain total. MyAcurite.com annual total is reset on Jan 1st. In weather record keeping, I have never seen "for all time rain totals". We might as well state that from the beginning of time, we have had millions of inches of rainfall and be done with it.

In addition, there are locations in the US, forget the world, where over 100" per year are seen (Alaska and Hawaii). So having this max out at 99" does not even service one of the markets targeted by Chaney (US cities).

The issue with the Display: this is a problem that cannot be easily corrected by a SW download since the unit is not internet enabled and probably does not even allow Chaney to update if unit is sent in.

I would hope that future Displays have rain totals that are:
- consistent between them (ie each resets with the new day, week, month, year)
- allows sufficient digits (ie 3 rather than 2) for rain totals

Seems like a reasonable request to annually reset the rainfall total to zero on January 1st, and provide three digits for annual rainfall.
