09155M Acurite Access and Lightning Detector 06045M

Got my 09155M Access, Yhea - Was able to replace my hub and all of my devices and settings saved

I upgraded to the 09155M Access due to the claims in the Email:
"Expandable to support new My AcuRite compatible sensors"

I assumed that meant that the 06045M Lightning Sensor would work with the new 09155M Access.

After trying unsuccessfully to get the 06045M to connect to the hub, thought someone here may know if the 2 devices can communicate?

Thank You for offering the new hub to existing customers.

Hello Jim02Bag,

The 06045M lightning detector is not compatible with My AcuRite. It does not work with the smartHUB or the AcuRite Access. It is something we will consider for future development.

Acurite Sales/Support,
I also just purchased a new access internet hub/bridge and I purchased a new 09155M lightening detector to go with it but the lightening detector 09155M sensor will not connect to the access Internet hub/bridge.

However before I purchased both units, I was told by Acurite sales that 09155M lightening detector sensor would connect to the new Access bridge unit?

Can you please explain why this incompatibility was not disclosed to me prior to my purchase. that was the main reason I got both units together.

Thank you,

The 06045m lightning detector does not work with the 09155m Access unit and it did not work with the Smarthub, it only works with 3 displays. It has been said that it may at sometime in the future but not yet.

Hello Charles,

The 09155M and the 06045M are not compatible with each other. Lightning detection will be compatible with My AcuRite when the Atlas series is released. We do not have a timeframe as to when this will happen. We do appreciate your patience. We apologize for the misinformation. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with.

I am equally disappointed.  I purchased a new 06058M HD display, 09150M Smarthub, 06014 5-in-1 Pro+ Sensor and 06045M lightning detector.  Shortly after the purchase I received the e-mail others described saying move to the 09155M AcuRite Access because it would support more devices.  Nothing that I read, stated that existing devices would not be supported.  As a new customer, it feels pretty shifty, that I was bated into a new device that actually does less for me.

My plan was to be able to check the weather station at the house from our boat using the myAcurite app to check for lightening. Knowing about lighting while on water is very important.  The ability to check lightening remotely was one of the drivers behind the purchase.

Very disappointed!!!
