09150m not responding to network

I picked up a second SmartHub and have yet to figure out why it's not responding. I've read almost every post related to the 09150m and can see the associated ip via my router admin page. I tried to use my chrome/win10 browser to access the hub and it did not respond. I tried to ping the hub and it did not respond. Each time I try to associate the hub in the dashboard get the same error message, "Device must be connected and reporting data to claim it. etc". Both LEDs are solid blue and sometimes the network led turns off for 30-40 secs then back on. I have a temp/humid sensor next to it. Since I already have a 2nd smart hub that is working and connected to my 5-1 and 4 temp/humid sensors. I know it is not a sensor issue. Of course I unplugged the working hub from the network to see if that was an issue but since the mac addresses are unique that should not be an issue either. MAC address of the smarthub of issue ends in 0969AE.
Please advise, Brian

Hello OLP,

When you see it on your router admin page does it tell you if it is active or inactive. When the network light is flashing it is telling you that it is not currently getting a network/internet connection. Do you have the smartHUB plugged directly into the router or are you using a port or switch? What is the name brand of the router you are using? Make sure you have DHCP enabled and Mac address filtering Disabled. You want to have TCP port 80 open as this is the port that the smartHUB sends information through.  The lights should function as follows: The left blue light is a network status light. It should flash for 1 second each time a reading is sent otherwise it will be steady. The right light should be solid steady. There should be an amber light in the back that is flashing where the Ethernet is plugged in. The green light should be solid. Please power down the smartHUB and router for 2 minutes. Unplug the Ethernet cord from the back of the router. After the 2 minutes power up the router. Wait for it to come back online. Once online go ahead, and plug in the Ethernet cord, and power up the smartHUB. Give it a couple of minutes and try to add the device.

Jennifer, thank you for your reply. I was able to contact tier 1 and tier 2 tech support to resolve this issue and we could not. Apparently the smarthub is defective. I have a 2nd system up and running with no issues on the networking. The new smarthub would obtain an ip address but did not communicate or display a splash page when entering the ip address in the browser as the currently working hub allowed.

Hello OLP,

I was able to locate 2 accounts. One is working, the other is not. I can see that the other device was purchased through eBay. We would recommend contacting the eBay seller as we do not warranty products purchased through eBay.

Hi Jennifer, I placed the 0969AE hub back on the network in case you wanted to check it at 192.168.1.7. Yes, you are correct, I don't have warranty on this unit.

Hello OLP,

We cannot check your routers IP.  At this point we do believe that there is an issue with the HUB and would recommend contacting the eBay seller. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
