06037M Backlight

Ok - You got me.  I can not figure out the backlight on the 06037M color 5-1 unit.  The manual depicts the light buld symbol and the color unit has the lightbulb symbol.  I have press on and around the symbol on the unit and nothing happens.   Is there suppose to be a button there and or it is touch sensitive?   There are no settings that I can find to adjust the brightness when the display unit is plugged in via AC.

Help me out, what am I missing?

On mine, there's a light bulb icon on the black plastic above the screen. Touch that and it should dim the display.

Thanks for the response.  I touch the bulb icon on the black cover above the screen and nothing happens.  I have done the hard reset (hold button for 15 secs) and pulled the power + batteries.  Nothing dims, no indicators change.

Everything else appears to be spot on.

When I touch mine firmly, nothing happens. If I touch it lightly, it works. Try touching ever so  lightly.

I will give them a shout - everything else works like a charm so I don't want to rock the boat too much.  Everything is calibrated and operating as expected.  The dimming control is the only thing that has thrown me for a loop.

Thanks
Benjamin

The bulb symbol on my 06037M does nothing either. Light touching, as if it were touch sensitive, has no effect. Nowhere around, above, behind, or below does anything either. As a matter of fact, sometimes, my backlight won't even stay on and I have to move the device to get the light back on again. What do now? I feel like I have the dumb.

Hi Shani,

If the light comes on when you move the display, that sounds like an issue with the adapter plug not fitting correctly.  Please try a factory reset of your display by pressing and holding the RESET button (located in the battery compartment) for 15 seconds; when the display goes blank, release the button and let it re-acquire the sensor signal.  Try the dim feature.  If you continue to have issues, please call Customer Support at 877-221-1252.  Have a great day!

That's really weird. the only other thing I can think of is to try and reset it back to factory specs and try again, although I don't know what the procedure is for that. You might try just unplugging it and plugging it back in first. Maybe someone from acurite has the answer.
