02029 Temperature Trend Arrow Unresponsive

I just purchased the 02029 and the Temperature Trend Arrows for both the indoor and outdoor temperatures seem to be unresponsive. I can take the sensor from 70° to 30° and while the temperature is visibly lowering, the Trend Arrow stays neutral. The same occurs when going from cold to warm, i.e., the arrow indicates no change.

Hi Dion,

The following steps should help to resolve any issues you have been experiencing with your unit.

Before proceeding with the reset, please check your batteries. We recommend that the batteries meet the following criteria:

• Verify you are using standard alkaline batteries such as Rayovac or Energizer. Lithium batteries, Rechargeable batteries, as well as batteries that indicate a heavy-duty quality are not recommended, and may cause irregularities.)
• Verify that you are using a fresh set of batteries. The battery expiration date should be at least 6 years out. Batteries can lose 3% of their power or more every year in storage.

1. Remove the batteries and ac adapter from the display unit
2. Allow to sit for 5 minutes with no power.
3. Inside the battery compartment of the display there is a white sticker with 4 numbers on it, please let us know what those numbers are.
4. Reinstall batteries and ac adapter verify that the display turns on and a temperature is showing.
5. After the display and sensor make connection, monitor trend arrow to see if it is now working properly.
