1If you want to know if your unit is reading correctly you can place the main unit and remote sensor side by side. The indoor temperature and outdoor temperature should read within the industrial standard of +/- 2 degrees. If it does not, contact customer support. -

I bought the Weather station too, the Costco version. It gives me an outdoor reading 10 degrees celsius too high. I returned it for exchange and the new one does exactly the same thing! I cheap digital thermometer and an old mercury thermometer confirm the error.

Hello achimkrull
The same issue happened to me - model#02020-CCDI. After much trial and error I found that if you set both the outdoor sensor and indoor console to channel B the temperature reports properly. This conflicts with the instruction manual which shows both units set to channel A. -
-
Good Afternoon,
Many times you may need to change to a different channel setting to find the best selection for your location. -

I purchased the Acu rite 1099RX from Costco this summer and became aware that the outside temp is never nearly accurate. Recently I received an e-mail about a problem with this unit, but since it was near the holiday season, I didn't have time to work on it, and now can't find the e-mail. Can you help me resolve this problem? Thanks.

Thanks for your response Jenny. It is always about 5 - 7 degrees different from the weather channel temp on my computer (for Prospect, which is where I live) and from the Weather Channel on TV, as well as the temperature in my car, which always coincides with the radio temperature. Also, the indoor humidity is much lower (about 10-20) points) than two thermometer/humidistats that I bought from la crosse technology. I did take the batteries out for 25 minutes today and have replaced them -- still not the same as any of the other sources I named. Thanks for your help. Bev

I am so totally beyond frustrated!!!!! We received the Professional Weather Center model #01035 as a Christmas gift. It worked fine for 2 days. Now the past 3 days, it records a temperature of -40C constantly. I have reset by removing batteries for 20 minutes on both units, changed channels, changed location of the receiver. I'm at my wits end. Please help!!!!!

I recieved the Costco model 1050 Accuritre professional weather station and the outdoor signal worked for about 5 days then stopped working. I recieve no signal, have reset the unit, changed the batteries and still no signal. Yes I have checked that both units are on the same chanel (Infact tried all 3 channels) and still not response from the outside unit. Please help.
-
Good Morning Rob,
When changing the channels did you have the batteries removed from both units at that time? This is necessary for them to recognize you are making a change. We also recommend, once batteries are reinstalled that the units sit together for 20 minutes to gain a strong connection. Please let us know if this is the procedure you've used and it still will not connect. -

I received the Weather Forecaster Model #00621W for Christmas. It was wonderful for about 2 weeks. A couple of days ago the outside temp was 10 F and never changed. I have changed the batteries, but the display states there is no connection. Instructions are useless (such as: What is the light on the sensor for? does it blink, stay steady? or Where is the reset button? There is no such button labeled "reset" on my unit.)

Hi pmsalazar,
Please visit the following link for further help on this model; http://support.acurite.com/acurite/to...
You will find the reset button just above the batteries. If you remove the battery door you'll see a rectangular cutout just above the batteries, in the center is a small circle. The circle is the reset button. -

I received the professional weather center, model # 01035, for Christmas. It has worked wonderfully until the past few days. For what ever reason the outdoor temp is not reading correctly. It tells me that it is 20c outside when it fact it was only 3c. There seems to be a wide gap between the actual temp and what it's reading. Suggestions?
-
Mr. Hobbs,
We would first recommend you try resetting the readings to eliminate the possibility of an electronic glitch. To do this, remove the batteries/power from both units for a minimum of 20 minutes. Then reinstall back into the sensor first and finally into the main display unit.
If this does not help to resolve the issue please let us know. -

I have a #01010W and it worked great for a month of two. Now the wind speed anemometer will only turn a little in high wind and not at all if there is not a high wind. Also, the bottom portion of the display console has nothing showing! I have replaced the batteries of both units, removed the batteries of both units and left them out for an hour or so, then replaced them in sequence I found listed here, and still no luck. Any suggestions??? I love the unit when it is working.
-
Hi Roy,
Have you tried lubricating the wind cups at all? A clear silicone grease or graphite powder work well.
As for the display not reading on the lower screen. Try pressing the Reset button located below the Clear All button inside the battery compartment.
If these tips do not help to resolve the issue please contact us directly, 1-877-221-1252 or info@chaney-inst.com and we'll be happy to discuss your replacement options with you.

Is it possible to re-calibrate a wireless thermometer myself? I have one that is off by about 16F degrees (56 outside, and it says 72F), comparing this brand to another we have.
-
Oh yes, I have a model 417 Wireless thermometer.

Hi Servant74a,
It's not possible to manually calibrate this unit. Our accuracy standard is +/- 2 degrees of the actual temperature. Do you have the sensor located in the direct sunlight or near any other type of heat source? Does the temperature seem to change or is it always reading 72F? May we ask what brand of batteries you are using and whether they indicate a heavy duty strength such as Ultra, Pro, Max etc? -
-
My 1055 Five in One is stuck on 68.0 degrees (http://www.wunderground.com/weatherst...) All the other sensors seem to be working perfectly. Is there any maintenance I need to do, or spot to check on the sensor?
I can do a reset, but I'd rather not if there is an easier fix. -
-
Hi rhoadrunner-
It sounds as though your units are experiencing some radio interference. To help to filter this out please follow the steps below.
1. Have both units indoors with you and remove at least one battery from each for 30 minutes.
2. Inside each battery compartment is an ABC channel switch. Try changing this switch to a different channel, being sure they always match each other.
3 . Replace the batteries in the outdoor unit first. Watch for the red light to flash twice then place batteries into the indoor unit.
Let the units sit side-by-side for 10-15 minutes before placing the sensor back outdoors.
Please contact us again if this does not correct the problem. Also please inform us of the brand of batteries you are using and whether they are a heavy-duty battery (max, super, ultra, etc). -
-
Any reason I can't do this outside? I'd have to unmount the sensors to bring it inside.
Thanks!
Paul-
rhoadrunner-
Yes you can take the display outside and do the reset that way if that is easier. You have to make sure the batteries are removed from both units at the same time, change the ABC channel then always replace batteries into sensor first. -
