How about a sensor "repeater"?
Some people live in a area where it's not possible to place the outdoor sensor near enough to their homes to be able to receive the signal, and far enough away to get good wind readings. Or they are in an apt. complex or some other situation that makes it hard to set up the sensor nearby. Chaney Instrument should consider developing a "sensor repeater". This solar/wind powered transceiver unit (w/ internal chargeable battery) could be set 200 to 300 feet from the sensor, receive the data from it, and then repeat the signal another 200 to 300 feet to the receiver/display in the home. Such a device could greatly extend the mounting options available for the sensor unit. What do you think?

This is a great idea and something we may have to look into as a future product.

I could use this as well as I want to put this in the lake which about a half a mile away and is too far for a regular sensor

R&D might consider a unit with an external antenna with higher gain, or including an antenna jack like SMA, BNC, etc to hook to a Yagi or high gain antenna.

Hello newuser,
It has been passed along to our design for consideration in future models. We currently don't have a predictable availibility date. -

A repeater would be great, I really want one. For me, an AC powered unit inside my home would allow the console to be placed in the room where I would like it instead of at the opposite end of the house. Also, a weather-proof repeater powered by AC or solar-battery combo would work nicely. Actually, two consoles for the same base unit would be nice for the readings to be available at different locations within my home, still would Nrequire a repearter in my case. I guess this simple sounding idea(s) become complex with possible combinations of weak and strong signals plus unintended interference with other wireless devices.
