Make certain that the batteries are installed correctly and that they are contacting the terminals. Make certain all contacts are clean. The batteries may need replacing.

  • What is the model number of this unit? This can generally be found on the back of the main unit or the front of the instructions.

model # on this unit is 00615, and we are still have the same problem after checking the battery installation. It shows outside humidity at 0, with temperature reading of 94 degrees, no heat index, inside temperature shows 81 degrees with 56% humidity.

  • If I'm understanding correctly the trouble is that the outdoor humidity reads 0%?

For this, we would recommend you attempt to reset the readings by removing the batteries from both units for 30 minutes. Then reinstall batteries into the outdoor unit first and then into the main display.

Model 00634 Weather Station. My outside humidity is stuck on 99. Taking batteries out of the inside unit only didn't change it. I will remove batteries from both units for 30 minutes as mentioned above.

Problem with that is the 14-day learning starts over and history is lost

  • Resetting the units wil cause the learning mode to begin again. However, if the humidity is reading inaccurately then it is very likely the forecast would be effected as well. Beginning the learning mode again will help to recalibrate the forecasting feature.

I have the Accurite weather center model 00639w. Bought new in July this yeaR It completed it's learning mode recently but the future forecast and the barometer pressure display has not changed at all. This has been the same through it's learning mode as well. Future forecast allways displays "partly cloudy". The barometer pressure allways displays " 10.72 ". I am now putting the unit through it's learning mode again, for which it has 2 more days to run. Maybe this will cure the problem or maybe i did not give it a fair chance to settle down when it came out of it's first learning mode. By the way i live in the UK and the weather changes at a fast rate, so i know there should be changes in the display areas noted in my text.

    Your comments would be appreciated

  • You are doing exactly what we would recommend by restarting the learning mode. If the forecast seems to continue reading inaccurately once it has completed the learning mode again please let us know.

Hi Jenny. The forecast is still reading inaccurately following it's second learning mode completed 4 days ago. Just to clarify again it is purely the future forecast display constantly shows "partly cloudy" and the barometric pressure reading constantly displays "10.72".

Hoping this problem can be rectified.

    Kind regards Reg

Jenny, I have model 00611only a couple weeks old w/new batteries and the outside readings (temp/humidity) start blinking intermittently between the last temp it stored and dash lines. I have done all the things listed here (taking out/replacing batteries, changing frequency, etc) nothing has worked. Now it just stays solid dash lines. The interior readings are on and correct, but nothing outside is reading. Seems like the outside sensor has gone bad, but the red light blinks intermittently like its working. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I tossed the packaging and receipt and can't return to the store where I bought it. This is the only unit I've seen that gives the outside humidity without buying a separate sensor so I hope you can help. Thank you.

I have the same problem, my sensor is an Accurite 00611. It worked for a week with no issues, but yesterday it's display turned off. I have changed batteries to the sensor and main unit and it is still off. Can it be fixed or shall I return it to the retail store?
    Thanks
    • Hi Eduardo,

Please try the following steps to attempt to reconnect your units.

      1. Bring both units indoors and remove at least one battery from each.
      2. Inside each battery compartment you'll find an ABC channel switch. Try changing these to a different channel, making sure they always match eachother.
      3. Replace the batteries into the outdoor sensor, the red light on the front should quickly flash and continue to flash every 20 seconds.
      4. Place the batteries back into the main unit
      5. Let the units sit within 2-3 feet of eachother for 15-20 minutes to gain a strong connection.

You may need to try each channel to find the best setting for your location.
    • I have the same unit with the same problem. I have had several wireless themometers of several brands, I believe they are all pieces of crap. I hope you can prove me wrong.

    Hello!

We just bought an Acurite Weather Station Display (model 02010-CCDI). We did follow all the instructions and did a reset twice but the forecast for the next hours ( 4 - 8 and 12) always shows rain symbol with the lines flashing. We bought it 4 days ago and the weather is just great, sunny all day long... What should we do?
    • For the forecast to read accurately check to be sure the following features are all reading correctly:
      Time
      Date
      Region
      Outdoor Temperature
      Outdoor Humidity

If you are near a border between Regions try changing to the other selection. Also read the percentage of the chance of rain. The rain symbol will appear when the chance is 50% or greater.

    Hello.
I have a 02001A1 for about 2 months now. The Future forecast has always stayed stayed at sunny with snow flakes. I reset the unit twice by removing the batteries. The unit went through its 14 day cycle and it still shows only the sun with snow flakes.
The inside and outside temperature readings have been correct and change during the day. It receives the information from WWVB (time/date) correctly.
I did not return the unit because the Future Forecast feature is not *that* important to me. If the fix is something simple, then I am willing to try it.
    Thank you.

Very dissapointed with the service from Acurite. If you can avoid sending your faulty unit back to them, Then all the better. You may never see it again. I sent my unit back to them at their request just about a month ago, from The UK. I have sent them multiple emails asking if they have received the unit.Is it under repair. Being replaced. Is it even on it's way back to me For all my effort they have not responded to one email. In my book this is bad manners and poor customer support. I would have thought better from the USA.

    Dissapointed Reg Williams.

i have model 02010 from costco in Canada seems to be a bad batch of units the temp is 28 deg outside but it only 16 and inside its 28 but only 20 second unit and they both do the same ,any ideas
    • Are you comparing the temperature readings to another thermometer in the same location? Also please be sure you are allowing a minimum of 30 minutes for the units to calibrate each time you reset or relocate the unit.

If the temperatures continue to read by this difference you may want to try a resetting the readings. To do this remove the batteries from both units for 20 minutes. Reinstall the batteries into the outdoor sensor and then into the main unit. Once again allow up to 30 minutes for the units to acclimate.

I have the 612RX and it isn't working - by half.

The problem is the outside and min/max temp started blinking 74 so I assumed that was a way of warning the batteries were low. I replace all the batteries (home and outside unit). The Inside unit shows the time and inside temp, but nothing from the outside.

I verified that both are on channel "A" and tried "C" on both for good measure. The outside unit (sitting right here until I get it working) has a blinker on the front and it is blinking about every 15 seconds.

The inside unit has flashed the universal signal, but I can't nail down the frequency. Despite the new batteries I put in, it didn't work. I replaced them again today and the flashing is working again. I hope it doesn't go through batteries on a weekly basis.

In any case after 3-4 minutes no "outside" temperature has appeared.

    • Hi Derek,

What brand of batteries are you using? We have recently found that the battery compartment of this unit is longer by just a fraction which can cause some batteries not to make a good connection. Duracell batteries seem to work very well.

We are correcting this issue, if you have any further trouble please contact us directly to discuss any possible replacement options, 1-877-221-1252 or info@chaney-inst.com.

Please note that previous registration of the product or proof of purchase is required for any warranty replacement. We may also require the unit to be returned to us prior to sending a replacement.
    • Thank you Jenny. I had been using rayovac batteries, swapped them for duracell and now the display is working perfectly....Thank You

I have the Weather Station model 02010-CCDI and I have to change the batteries of the external receiver twice a month, even if I use high quality batteries. How come this device consumes so much energy ?
    • Hi Michel,

This unit should not be draining batteries so quickly. Can you tell us what is indicating that the batteries need to be changed? Have you tested the batteries after removing them from the unit to be sure they are dead or weak?

Many times the low battery icon will appear if the units have lost connection. The main unit "believes" the sensor has a low battery because it can't find it. To resolve this try changing the ABC channel switch to a different setting. Be sure to remove the batteries from both units when making this change.

I just got the AcuRite 1099RX Weather Station, and am pleased with it with one minor exception. It is about 1 1/2 minutes slow! Is there a fix for this?

    • Good Morning,

You can manually adjust the time if you'd like. Please follow the steps below to do so.

      1. Touch and Release Set on the touch-sensitive bar below the indoor display window.
      2. The first thing you will notice flashing is the Time Zone letters to the left of the time.
      3. While the Time Zone is flashing, Touch and Release the Up or Down arrow to adjust if needed.
      4. Touch and Release Set and DST ON or OFF will flash below the time.
      5. While DST is flashing, Touch and Release the Up or Down arrow to adjust.
      6. Touch and Release Set and the Hour will flash
      7. While the Hour is flashing, Touch and Release the Up or Down arrow to adjust.
      8. Touch and Release Set and the Minutes will flash.
      9. While the Minutes are flashing, Touch and Release the Up or Down arrow to adjust.

Please let us know if this helps to answer your question or if you are in need of further assistance.

I called AcuRite a few days ago complaining that my 0593A2 Acurite Weather Station would not display Outdoor Temp or Humidity. With the employee on the phone we replace (once again) all the batteries a pressed the TX button in the sensor and still nothing. The employee said it was the sensor and connected me to Klockit and I paid 17.00 for a new sensor. Guess what! Same result. Weather Station still does not display Outdoor Temp or Humidity and I am 17.00 poorer. What are the chances that the problem is the Weather Station instead of the Sensor. Now I have to shop for a Weather Station and I have a useless brand new sensor.

    Please advise. Thank you.

    • STRANGE! STRANGE! After four days, yes 4 DAYS the station picked up on the Sensor signal. This is very strange because we were out of town for three days and when we got home the sensor (laying right by the station the whole time) still was not being sensed by the station. Then all of a sudden, today, the station shows readings in the Outdoor spaces. Why would it take a station that long to pick up on the sensor that was lying right beside it? The sensor is now outdoors and it is still working fine.

I am very puzzled. Thoughts about why it would take this long? This makes me wonder if first sensor would have worked after replacing the batteries -- if I would have waited 4 DAYS! Mmmm?
    • Hi James,

Wow, I am glad to hear that the sensor and main unit are now communicating. I have personally not heard of a situation quite like this. The main unit should be doing regular searches for the signal from the main unit and perhaps what's happened here is that the main unit is not opening that "window" as often as it should be.

Hi James. Hope you have better luck than me getting your problem resolved. So far it has taken almost three months since i sent my faulty unit back to Chaney instruments at cost of postage from the UK. The unit was returned to me for which i was asked to pay a heavy customs fee which i refused. Am still waiting to hear what the outcome will be. Never will i buy Accurite weather monitors again. The back up service is poor. Best of luck.

    • Hi Jenny. Once again i am commenting on such a poor poor service from Acurite.I have waited so patiently for the return of the weather station. I first contacted Acurite on the 20th of August this year.with the weather station problem. 4 months ago. This i sent back to Acurite soon after that contact. From your last communication with me, that a new weather station will be sent to me, is close to a month ago. Please please, what is the problem? I would not have an electrical contracting business if i treated my clients with an after sales service similar to Acurite. I really do not know what else to say. All my frustration as been vented in previous communications. Total despair with the service from such a well known company.
    • Good Afternoon Reg,

I have the Acu Rite 1099RX and up until today, I got the temps for both inside and outside. Right now, I've got indoor--time, date, temp & humidity. Outside--I've got the pressure gage but no temps at all.

I changed the batteries for the outside probe, even though the red light winked.

I haven't changed the indoor batteries yet. Should I? Is there something else going on?

    • Thank you, Jenny. This worked. I had replaced only the batteries in the outdoor sensor & had replaced it. When I brought it in and replaced the batteries in the big unit & set them side-by-side, it began to work again.

    sad I’m confused
I just bought a weather station Model 2010 and it seems to be working good but I have a gripe about the screen. I look at the screen straight on and the read outs are faded but if you look at the screen from an angle the read outs seem dark and normal. Anybody else experiencing anything like this, just want to make sure this is normal before I possibly return the unit.

Model 634. Wind Chill just shows - -
I took all batteries out for an hour then replaced them outside first.

Thank you. I was wondering why it didn't display wind chill too often last winter. (I never saw the dashes before.) I rarely get a wind speed of 5mph. My neighbor says I have it in an area that's too protected and that it should be on the roof or more out in the open.

    sad I’m extremely upset!!!!!
I bought my daughter in Wyoming and my Son in Arizona, the Model #01033W Weather Forecaster. (My son doesn't have his yet!) We put three batteries in the main (inside) display unit and NOTHIING! Not a time, not a temp, NOTHING!. I purchased a new set of batteries - NOTHING! So I removed the batteries and used an emery board to scratch the service of the area where the batteries are placed, scratched the surface of the new batteries, and still - NOTHING. We took the gift intended for my son and went thru the same process to no avail. What seems to be going on here?

    sad I’m very disappointed !
Seems that my weather station Model #2010 thinks its going to Rain for the rest of are lives........ So can somebody tell me how to fix this problem? Its been nothing but clear and sunny the whole time I've owned this unit and that's been 15 days now.. Do I need to reset? All categories are correctly marked, not sure what else to do.
